Become a Study Abroad Ambassador!

The Ambassador program provides returning study abroad students and recent alumns with opportunities to extend their engagement in cross-cultural experiences beyond their trip abroad.  Ambassadors are student volunteers who serve as a resource for prospective students and the Office of Study Abroad. As an Ambassador, you will be called upon to share experiences, perspectives, and identities as well as participate in programming designed to raise awareness and inspire.

In your role as a Study Abroad Ambassador, you’ll develop valuable leadership, presentation and intercultural communication skills. You’ll learn how to articulate the value of your experience abroad, promote global understanding, collaborate with a team and expand your network.

What You’ll Do

Study Abroad Ambassadors are motivated by intercultural exchanges and a desire to continue developing cultural self-awareness. Ambassadors are valuable and valued members of the CIE team who commit to volunteering for the full semester. Responsibilities vary based on individual interests but Ambassadors can expect the following:
  • to follow our @loynoabroad Instagram account and appear on the Study Abroad website as a contact for students with questions.
  • to volunteer at events and info sessions (i.e. PDO, Study Abroad Fairs, International Education Week programming)
  • to connect with student orgs and departments
  • to participate in Study Abroad Ambassador meetings to plan and discuss activities with Peer Advisors
  • to help organize and implement CIE events
  • to commit to a minimum of 3 events/activities per semester
