Meet our Loyno Abroad Storytellers

Your story is one of the most valuable things you can share!  Loyno Abroad Storytellers are student volunteers who share aspects of their experiences with our social media audiences as their adventures abroad unfold. Storytellers participate in virtual events and provide content for use in Study Abroad promotional materials.

Harrison Fournet

Harrison (he/him) is a junior Digital Filmmaking major from New Orleans, Louisiana. He is studying through ISEP Exchange at Sogang University in Seoul, South Korea. Harrison chose to study in Seoul because of their unique food culture and urban landscape. South Korea is also a major player within the film industry, which Harrison wants to learn more about. Harrison's goal for studying in South Korea is to step out of his comfort zone by meeting new people and experiencing new things in order to become a more well-rounded individual. He enjoys creating videos and taking photos of his adventures, as well as skateboarding, making music, and exploring nature. You can check out his experience abroad on Instagram (@no.sirrah) or Youtube (@HarrisonFournet).

Josi Guidry

Josi is a junior Mass Communications and Political Science major from Lake Charles, Louisiana. She is studying abroad in Maynooth, Ireland through Loyola University’s study abroad program at Maynooth University. Josi chose this part of Ireland because it is close to Dublin, and wanted to be close to a big city! Josi’s goal is to travel throughout Europe, visiting as many countries as she can since this will be her first time abroad. She loves to try new restaurants, visit museums, and visit historical sites! Follow along on her journey abroad by following her Instagram, @JosiGuidry.

Francesca Salerno

Francesca (she/her) is a junior Forensic Chemistry major from New York. She is studying abroad at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore through Loyola Exchange in Milan, Italy! Francesca chose this program because although she has traveled to Italy before, she has never been to Milan and is excited for these new experiences to come. One of her goals is to take as many pictures as she can of all the beautiful things Italy (and hopefully other countries on her travels) has to offer including the architecture and of course, food! You can check out her experience abroad on Instagram @_francescaanne_ .

Emma Porterfield

Emma is a junior Graphic Design major from Roanoke, Virginia. She is studying abroad at the University of Birmingham in Birmingham, England through Loyola Exchange. Emma decided to go to the University of Birmingham because she wanted to experience the United Kingdom's culture and explore the United Kingdom and Europe. Emma hopes to go to many different countries throughout her time abroad. She loves fashion, art, exploring museums, fancy cocktails, shopping, and traveling as a whole!

Mary Justice

Mary (she/her) is a Public Relations major and Environmental Studies minor from Omaha, Nebraska. She is studying at Maynooth University in Ireland through Loyola’s Exchange program. While abroad she is hoping to visit Iceland! For fun, she loves to mixology and cooking. Her instagram is @maryjustice_ and her YouTube is @maryjustice if you want to follow along her journey!

Melissa Moore

Melissa is a junior Music with Elective Studies major. While her main focus is the violin, she also has Catholic Studies and English minors. The Catholic Studies program connected her with the Thomistic Institute, a semester abroad in Rome, Italy, where she will study the theology of St. Thomas Aquinas and take Italian, art, politics, and history classes. Melissa likes to combine her interests in storytelling, music, and spirituality through songwriting, and can't wait to document her experience in Rome and elsewhere through photography and collections of personal memorabilia.

Leila Jones

Leila (she/her) is a Junior at Loyno who is majoring in history and minoring in public health. She is from Denver, CO, and is doing an international exchange with Australian Catholic University’s Melbourne campus. Leila chose Melbourne because of her childhood interest in Australian Aboriginal cultures and the availability of public health centric courses at ACU Melbourne. She is excited to immerse herself in Melbourne’s culture which is known for being a hub of art, entertainment, and good food. You can find her adventures in Melbourne on her Instagram (@fishstickwitch)!
