The Location

The Jesuit Universidad Iberoamericana, the flagship Jesuit university in Latin America, is located in Mexico City. With over 20 million inhabitants, Mexico City is the world's largest city! The eclectic blend of modern life amidst the history of the city creates a diverse and fascinating experience for students. Students have access to significant historical locations, hundreds of museums, beautiful city parks and the expansive urban environment all wrapped into the vibrant lifestyle of Mexico City!

With 108 million people, Mexico is the largest Spanish-speaking country in the world! Talk about differences between Mexico and US/ importance of Mexico.

The Experience

Classes are conducted on the Ibero's main campus. Students have full access to the Ibero's magnificent library, one of the best in all of Latin America, as well as the other facilities open the Ibero's degree-seeking students.

Study abroad in Mexico offers a great opportunity for students to experience an extraordinary blend of the past and present that come together in Mexico City to create the experience of a lifetime!

Housing

Lodging with selected Mexican host families. Preference give to those who register early.  Registrants can also make their own living arrangements and subtract the fees for housing and meals. Housing with two meals a day-- breakfast and dinner, except on Sunday-- are provided in the summer program but during the semester housing is without meals. Experience has shown that this is the most practical and economical arrangement for the average international student.

Service Learning

Every effort is made to make service learning an optional part of every course in the Mexico City Program. Service Learning integrates community service with academic instruction with a focus on critical, reflective thinking as well as personal and civic responsibility. Students choosing the Service Learning option are provided opportunities to address actual community needs in one or more Latin American or Mexican settings while gaining valuable hands-on experience or reflection that enhances their educational goals.
