Spring Semester Budget Information
Students at Dortmund are required to have German health insurance. The only way to pay for the mandatory German insurance is with automatic withdrawals from a German bank account, so students will also need to open a German bank account.Expenses are estimates and will vary based on student preferences. This budget sheet does not include additional expenses for personal travel and these should be added to your expenses.
Loyola insurance is calculated at $88/month for the duration of the program. Please note that some countries (e.g., Australia, France, Germany) require that students participating in study abroad programs purchase local health insurance in that country, in addition to the LewerMark insurance that Loyola requires. Students are responsible for purchasing this insurance if it is a requirement for the country where they will be studying.
All estimates based on exchange rate of 1 Euro = $1.18 USD as of 8/21/2020.
